Now I'm sure I've told you before that I'm not the greatest sewer in the world but when I do get around to sewing anything I really enjoy it. And the only way I'm ever going to get any better at it (hopefully) is if I practise more. And the way I hope to do this is by actually making some of these pinned projects.
Want to see some of my fabric stash? No, then look away now. For those that do here are a few, ok a lot of pics.
An odd curtain I picked up.
There's about 5-6 metres of this fabric and it only cost a few £.
Another odd curtain, this is from The Country Diary (of an Edwardian Lady) range, it's quite a large curtain which I'm hoping to turn into a pair for my bedroom.
I picked this piece up for the grand sum of £1. I want to make a throw for my youngest sons bed but to be honest I'm not sure how to. Any advice would be greatly received.
A small embroidered table cloth. I love embroidered linens and see lots of beautiful ones on peoples blogs but when I usually come across them they're badly stained and have a hefty price tag on them. This one has a couple of marks but I'm hoping I can remove them.
A set of 4 napkins, I loved the cherry pattern on these.
One of the other items I seem drawn to recently is aprons, especially homemade ones. Here are a few I've picked up recently.
Sorry not the best picture. These are three half aprons I picked up for a pound each, they look like they were all made by the same person.
Hopefully soon I'll have some pictures of projects that I've made from some of these fabrics.
I love the half aprons. I always buy them when I see them as the 50's/60's prints are so cute. I'm planning to quilt with them... x
ReplyDeleteI think the half apron style definitely has a 50's vibe. I think mine will stay as aprons although I'm sure the hubs will have a chuckle when I start to wear them lol xx
DeleteOhhh lovely fabrics! I seem to be doing the same lately but then never want to cut them up. Your collection is impressive!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel xx
DeleteAww lovely!
ReplyDeleteI also have a horde of fabric, my mum does too! and a never ending list of projects we would like to do :)
your sewing skill is not really important, you will always love what you create :) X
As you can imagine my mum like yours also has a fabric stash hers is mainly for her bear making though. That's definitely true that you always love what you create. xx
DeleteHi Nicci, thanks for visiting my blog, I am following you back. Nice fabric stash and vintage aprons.
