The latest tick on my wish list is not one but six pieces of Hornsea Fauna (well I say tick but I think it'll actually turn into the latest collection). I originally saw a piece in a charity shop, it had no markings on it so I'm assuming it was a copy or something that looked similar to Hornsea Fauna. So I went home and researched it and completely fell in love with the range. I think it's very cute and whimsical looking.
Well last week when we took the boys to the cinema there was the weekly antiques market on outside so we went for a browse and found three pieces, two were from a stall where everything was £1. I couldn't believe my luck to find three pieces in one day.
Then at the carboot this weekend I saw three pieces on a stall and she wanted £10 for all three but I didn't really want to pay that so after me acting all indecisive she finally offered them to me for a fiver.
Now I know they're not everyone's cup of tea (my mum's already told me she doesn't like them lol) but I love them. I just need to find somewhere to put them now as the dresser is pretty full, I think I need another one (and an extension on the house to put it in!)
What lucky finds! :D
ReplyDeleteHow amazing to acquire a whole collection so fast! xx
ReplyDeleteI know I couldn't believe I found so many in such a short space of time, it'll probably take ages now to find any more lol xx

ReplyDeleteOh sweet! It's a really good idea to be strict with yourself and only buy what you are collecting. You have been most fortunate to find these lovelies in such a sort space of time - kismet for sure!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger, I had the second one down on my dressing table.
ReplyDeleteI spotted it at my mums house just the other day and I thought to myself, I'll have to look out for one myself at a car boot!
Great blog btw, I love seeing your bargain finds and furniture makeovers.

ReplyDeleteHi Nicci, I had my eyes peeled this morning at the car boot, I found the bottom bambi but it had been glued back together and they still wanted £3!!! shocking, the lady told me she had two more and a chap had just bought them a few moments earlier. .... If theres ever anything your looking for send me some pics n i will keep my eyes peeled for you on my travels x
ReplyDeleteThanks that's really kind of you. It's shocking isn't it what some people sell at carboots and the price they want for them. I saw a hornsea ornament once and the animal had been broken off and a squirrel magnet glued on! Lol
Deletewhat! haa, some people!! I picked up a horse riding helmet today it was all ripped, had no padding and the insides had been removed. The lady asked me for £5. as you can imagine i didnt buy it x
